Easter school holidays

It seems these current school holidays are coming to a close quite quickly.  And what a busy time the girls and I had this time for the past two weeks.  Besides catching up with a couple of people, either in person or on facebook, we managed to have some water time before winter sets in.

Last week we had an afternoon at a public pool.  This centre had a mini waterpark with six slides.  All was going well until I had an injury under one of my arms.  This slide was faster then I expected so I lost my siting position, hit the side of the slide wall and hit the water at the bottom with poor posture. It sure knocked wind out of me and I was quite sore for at least a day or so.

In the same week we had spent one day in Bribie Island.  The last time I was there was back in the late 20th century so it was quite a surprise to see how the population of this area increased in two decades. My kids never been there before so it was no different for them to even noticed.  We had about half an hour in the surf and the rest of the day was sitting in the shady spot for a picnic and let the kids play on the playground.

This week we spent a day in Redcliffe.   We hanged around at the lagoon area for only two hours then moved to a park area so the kids could play on the playground.  Inspite the weather change to cooler temps and windy most of us weren't in the water for very long.  But overall it was a nice sunny day to be out on a picnic and have a casual stroll along the beach's walkway.  I think I will take the girls back here when the weather warms up again after the spring school holidays. They loved the lagoon area! Its very similar to Southbank's (in Brisbane) pool.

In two weeks we viewed three new release movies at the cinema.  We watched THE LORAX in 3D, TITANIC in 3D and Mirror Mirror.  As far as I know I think my 13 yo daughter is going to go to the cinema this weekend to watch a movie or two with her father. I might consider taking my 12 yo to the cinema to see the latest pirate movie while the other two are at the cinema watching what they wish to see.

Today the kids and I went to a league's club on the northside of Brisbane.  We met my parents there to have lunch from one of their cafes and watch their free light entertainment from John McSweeney for two hours. There is alot of seniors attend on Friday mornings so most of them knows and become friends of my parents. Afew seniors were up doing their line dancing moves.  John had a couple of kid's songs (Hokey Pokey and chicken dance) for the juniors to dance to but both of my kids didn't want to know about it. I wish they were younger again!

After the concert we had lunch there. I had a club sandwich with ham, cheese and rabbit food. It was quite huge and I didn't have enough room in my tummy to fill it with a sweet dessert.  I was still feeling quite full at dinner time so I didn't barely consume much.

What's on your agenda for this weekend?  At this stage I am hoping to make a start with my scrap preparations as the camp is only two weekends away.  I hope to make a start during this week but most days I was busy with other events on.  In the evenings I was too tired to think about organising photos and page layout ideas.  I know what project to work on, just I need to work out the page layout ideas to do on an eight inch size album. I am hoping I can at least complete one album by the time the camp weekend ends on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking of sleep I think it is time for my beauty sleep as I will have an early start to wake up tomorrow.  Goodnight! And have a good weekend.
