Family member

What a week this one going to be!  I thought the weekend was bad enough when I found out a friend has been dianogised with a brain tumour. But tonight's bombshell set this week off.  Whatever plans that supposely happen may not happen afterall.

Looks like I might be making an emergency trip to travel up north as I received bad news about one of my Auntie's passing tonight.  It was a total shock to me because I never knew she was quite ill. I did get the call on Sunday evening stating to expect the worse but I didn't think it would happen just over 24 hours later.  Tonight is too much of a reminder what happen three years ago when my Nanna died.  The only difference is my Auntie died the day after my Nanna's anniversary.

The details of her funeral haven't been said as yet but I am only guessing it might happen before this weekend.  If not, it would be earlier next week for sure.

Watching parts of the episode of the X-factor tonight made me thought what kind of world we live in after I heard the song IMAGINE sang by a 17 yo male.  Even after I SMSing to some cousins of mine who live interstate,  I thought I wish I could be in my 20's again.  Then I wouldn't have my relatives slowly departing out of my life as I am growing older.  I know it's the circle of life that we were born to live and die but I still think it isn't fair to see our relatives go after I have known for over four decades.  I just hope my Auntie didn't suffer much pain in whatever illness she may had.

My weekend

Hi followers!  How was your weekend?  We had another quiet weekend away from bowling tournaments.  The next one is scheduled to happen on Father's Day.  Futher details might of been listed on my sporting blog last night.  In a couple of hours I have my bowling league to bowl in.  We might have an advantage to win tonight as we are going to play against one of the lowest points team.

But yesterday I had an interesting and busy day.  I attended to an all day scrap meet in Brisbane which I already been mentioned in my craft diary.  Tuesday is the next time I will have another casual meet at the store.  I love Tuesdays!  It's my favourite day of the week these days.  I won't need to have any pages prepared as I have done them up last week.

One school will have their fete on this Friday evening. I am sure the little school's community will have a busy week finalizing all the details in ready to start after school.  I still got to preorder and pay for two ride bands.  Most school fetes these days have organised with the ride company to have a ride band schedule where a person pays for only $20-$25 for a ride band to go on unlimited rides in the time of the fete in operation. If the weather is on its best behaviour that night, we should have a small fireworks display at the conclusion of our fete.

What a week!

Hi followers!  How was your week?  Inspite a mixed bag of weather sightings I remained busy with normal commitments and craft meets (which I will chat more about in my craft blog).

I have turned another year older for a week now.  And for two days I watched afew DVDs of my favourite TV show that I received for my birthday.

Unfortunately a tragic event happened for one family in our city this week.  I know our locals would of heard about this but for overseas readers, a house fire destroyed the lives of two families.  It is hard to imagine what these survivors are going through right now after losing three generations in one go like that.

When I hear tragic events like this one through the media, it makes me think even more on how short our life really is.  We all (especially today's teenage kids) should be thankful we have a life to live for...food on the table, clothes on our backs, a roof over our heads and parents to love us.  But for parents who have teenage kids, they would understand the pressure we (as parents) have to go through with their kids.  People say terrible twos are the worse years! I think they were wrong about that one.  I reckon the teens years are the worse to cope with.  There is times I just wish I could hiberate until my brats turn 18.

Today wasn't really a good start of the day for me.  This morning I received some bad news from my best friend. She now lives overseas and I am thankful we have the net so I can chat to her at times.  But this isn't the kind of news I wanted to read.  I think I have been through enough for the past 3-4 years. She told me her friend is very ill with a brain tumour.  He is only in his 40's and the survivor rate with this tumour is slim.  He is fighting as hard as he can and he is going through chemo treatment.

Last year when my Dad was sick and was in hospital more then once with his ordeal, I did do alot of research about cancer treatments.  I read if a patient goes through chemo treatment, it can have serious side effects to other parts of the patient's body within 6-12 months after treatment.  After I read this I do wonder if it is really worth the trouble to live for, if surgeries or treatments are going to cause more grief than recovery.

Time to update other blogs now. Have a nice Sunday!

My birthday

Guess who's birthday it is today?    MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!  But I am not going to say how old I am.  All I will say I will be celebrating many anniversaries over the years of being 21 again and again.  Well.....I only can wish to be that young again.  Don't you?  Ahh!  The good old days of being single.

OMG!  That was so long ago and where did these decades go and how much my life has changed during this time.  I got married, moved three times, experienced childbirth twice and a lost of a baby, had afew casual job positions and experienced of being part business owner.  Now for the next 21 years I hope to stay healthy, continue bowling (hopefully get back into more tournaments in other states), witness my children have excellent careers and try to achieve my own goals and dreams.  What are your goals and dreams?

Anyway I had a nice quiet time at home with my family on my birthday.  I was planning on going to the EKKA with the kids but because I had a sick child home from school for most of this week I thought it wouldn't be advisable to go and let her get any worse after she's making the road to recovery now.

I have received afew birthday greetings via snail mail and on my facebook wall.  Thanks guys!  I love you all!  But the best present of all was receiving a DVD set of the final series of Macleod's Daughters from my DH.  And seeing my eldest daughter getting her star of the week reward at bowling this morning made a nice start to the day.  I have a feeling it will be my turn tomorrow night to get my reward.  Now, wouldn't it make the best present for me and make a nice ending to my weekend.

I heard this morning about a Nanna from junior bowling had celebrated her 90th year last week and apparently her family had organised her to go on a bike ride around Sydney for an hour.  I couldn't imagine a senior age female on the back of a three wheel bike but she said she loved it!  I couldn't see myself doing that at that age (that's if I am alive still by then) but I would love to go up into a hot air balloon before I died. I don't know because I am scared of heights.  When I used to live at home with my parents I used to see one or more hot air balloon on most weekends, passing over our house at such early hours of the morning (after sunset). It was so beautiful to watch!

If your birthday is coming up or has already past for this year, I hope you will/had a great day with your family and friends.

A short week

Hi followers!  How was your week?  This week was more a short week for students as they had two days off school because of Brisbane Ekka.  It all depends on where you lived.  Towns outside Brisbane region. students might of had days off on Monday and Wednesday while Brisbane kids had Wednesday and Thursday off.

This week was even shorter for my eldest daughter as she's been sick for afew days now.  We went to the doctors and she has been prescribed some antibotics for tonsillitis.  Has been afew years since she last had it and I just hope it doesn't continue for the rest of this year.  I had tonsillitis years ago on many occassions.  In the end I had to have my tonsills removed.  It was no fun for a young adult to go through.

Have a good weekend!

Another bowling weekend

Hi followers!  How was your weekend?  We had another weekend at the bowling alley to deal with two leagues and one tournament to be played at two centres.  A full report is listed under my sporting blog. The only thing I forgot to add was I won $25 from a pick a number card from today's tournament.

Normally kids would be back at school on Monday after a two day weekend but tomorrow is a public holiday for Brisbane EKKA.  I did thought about going to the EKKA with the kids tomorrow but I decided against it because it will be another expense I don't need right now.  We had a busy month with bills as it is and I still have to pay for kid's school excursions and ride bands for one fete this month. If I end up go to the EKKA I will go by myself during school hours on Friday so I can view all the exhibits without worrying about what the kids are up to or complain about something I don't wish to hear.

What's on your agenda for this week?  Not planning on doing much out of the ordinary this week as the kids will have two days off school.  Oh well, whatever plans you might have scheduled, I hope you all will have a good week.

Normal week

Good  morning followers!  How was your week?  For me it was just another normal week to do things from home, drive daily to schools for drop offs and pick ups, attend to my favourite sport and one craft meet.

What's on your agenda for this weekend? Tonight Rachel has a disco to attend to at her school. It will only go for two hours.  The rest of this weekend will be round 2 of bowling in two leagues and one tournament again to be played in Brisbane.  I will post the results in my sporting blog after the weekend.

Brisbane Ekka had its doors opened for the public yesterday to attend on any day/s for the next ten days. I feel one day is enough as it is quite an expensive day for the family.  By the time you pay for your transport, your family admission, showbags and something to eat, half your weekly wage would be gone out of your account. At this stage if the weather is fine I am planning on taking the girls to go on Monday as Logan city has their public holiday.  The best thing I like about the EKKA is all the exhibits of food, craft and animals, side show ring and showbags!!  This time I will really take note of all the paintings on display as one of my bowling mates has her artwork at the EKKA this year.  I don't know if she has won a prize or not.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Saturday 6 August 2011

Hi followers! How was your week?  I had quite a busy week with normal commitments as well as two days of spring cleaning during school hours.  I am slowly making some progress with the boxes downstairs.  One cupboard is full of things that belongs to my spouse and a drawer is half full of my belongings.  Next thing I need to do is go through alot of boxes with my craft supplies in them. Believe me that will take some time now! It will be interesting to see what I forgot I had purchased sometime ago.

Been a good sporting week for most of us which I will write up a report on my sporting blog after this weekend.  We will be busy living at the bowling alley this time as there is three leagues and one tournament to play over the weekend.

Had two craft meets this week which is already reported in my craft diary blog.  Enjoy reading!!

July highlights

Hi everyone!  How was your month? When you think of it, where did the month of July go?  It seems to went out the door so fast.  In over four months time Christmas will be here.

We are now half way into winter season and I will be glad when it finally ends for the year as I am tired of cold nights and having colds/flus going around in circles in this household.

When the new month began, we still had another week of school holidays left which the girls and I managed to catch three movies at the cinema.  We went and saw Cars 2, Mr Popper’s Penguins and Kung Fu Panda 2 at the Logan Hyperdome.  On Friday we went to Arana Hills League to spend time with my parents for 2.5 hours to see some light entertainment, raffle draws where I won $15 cash and we all had lunch from the club’s cafe.

After two weeks of school holidays, semester two has started since 11th July. Back to school means back to normal commitments again involving school, sport and craft. Tuesdays would have been my favourite day of the week because I visited the craft store weekly to casually scrap with other ladies or by myself.  I started to work on Rachel’s album so I can try to get her years up to date.

In the first couple of weeks back to school, I viewed Monqiue’s report card that arrived in the mail box and her school had their parent teacher interviews again on 26th July which this time I met all her teachers in 90 minutes.

Also her school had their sports day for two days which Monique managed to come home with four ribbons for both field and track events.  She came 3rd for Triple Jump (4.70m), 2nd in long jump (3.26m) and 400m run and 1st in 200m final.

On 24th July Monique played in her fifth TQI tournament which was played at Capalaba Lanes again.  It was our lucky day because I won $30 from the lotto number card and Monique came home with two medals.  Her team came 2nd and her second medal was for high game scratch (196).

Guess that's all to report this time.  I hope you will have a good month throughout August.  There is two members in this household who will celebrate their birthdays this month. You will need to guess who they are?
