Term 3 report

Goodbye term 3!  Today is the last day of school before school holidays start for two weeks.  I haven't made any concrete plans on what activities to do with my girls but I can point out I will have a couple of craft meets during the holidays.

Term 3 was quite busy with normal commitments involving Rachel attending school daily. Her semester one report card was seen and attended to the parent teacher interviews after the winter vacation in June/July.  There is a couple of minor hiccups with her learning but she's going okay in most areas. She enjoyed more hands on subjects the most!

Also her school had their annual sports day.  She did well in afew events but she didn't qualify to enter the districts.

As for myself I have been busy with the job seeking department.  I had afew interviews via phone or in person but I don't seem to be the successful applicant because the lack of certificates requirements.  I think in term four I should consider doing some volunteer work and get my first aide certificate done. Also my qualifications need to be completed but I am abit hesitate on enrolling as I don't want to waste my money if I can't get a job after all.  I had an interview with the employment agency too and the lady who interviewed me said about the office course I studied in the 90's is no longer valid for any office jobs.   I never got any office jobs successful after that course because I was too slow of a touch typist.  But it was useful for our family business in the last decade.

Bowling has had its up and downs throughout the year but I started to get more over average games this semester.  Even my team finally moving up the chart.  We are now in the top 10 placings!! I managed to win the raffle twice in August.

The best highlights of my term was attending to a live footy game, two concerts and one camp which I would of already mentioned in previous posts.  Just go back to July and August reports to get the full details about them.

Better go as I have some house chores to catch up on today as I will have a busy weekend. I have two craft workshops and a birthday party to attend to.

To all parents who have school holidays with their kids, have a good break!!  If you have any travel plans, make sure your destination spot is a safe journey.

Lucky August

Goodbye winter!  Australia is now into spring season which started 8 days ago.  Our night time still gets abit cold at times but our daytime temperatures are lovely when we have full sunny days.

At long last, August was the best month I had in six years.  Other years I had the news of someone in hospital or death.  This time it was a good month with no flu from either my Rachel or myself. I actually had a lucky streak of winning raffles too.  I won cash at bowling twice, a stamp set at craft and two dinner vouchers at the club.

One lunch with craft friends at a local pub in Ipswich, a surprise morning at a craft meet and three dinner dates at a club, only because I had free vouchers from the clubs I am a member at.  On my birthday I had a buffet dinner with Rachel at Broncos League Club.

But the best highlight of August was seeing two concerts:  Pseudo Echo and Daryl Braithwaite. Seeing Pseudo Echo has been my dream for two decades. And to make my night even better I got to meet the lead singer "Brian Canham" in person. Another fan taken a photo of us on my behalf and Brian signed my CD.

Also I went to a rubber stamp camp at the common venue spot where I go to scrapbooking camps.  Because I was on a waiting list for possible attendance, it came to a surprise to find out three days beforehand I could attend (as two members dropped out).  I couldn't show up until Saturday morning as I was out at Daryl Braithwaite concert on Friday night. I had a great time and been productive on completing their workshops, make and take classes and started on creating Christmas cards for my card list.

Until the next report, enjoy your start of spring season!
