Back to School

The first week of semester two is now over and what a week it was.  Unforunately a couple of dramas happened and I don't really wish to discuss about it anymore. 

But today was the best day of the week.  This morning the girls bowled in their teen league and then afterwards they had their prize presentation for season one.  A full report has been posted in my sporting report blog.

This afternoon I had my scrap workshop.  Full report about this event has been posted in my craft diary.  But I forgot to add my consultant gave us a workshop program for August.  As long she doesn't change the dates, one of the four hour workshops will happen on my birthday!  Besides three workshops, we will have an all day workshop for the Make a Wish foundation.  It's now an annual event for CM! 

Inspite another miserable day forecast for tomorrow no clue what I plan on doing during the day.  Guess it all depends on how I feel when I wake up.  Just hope I will sleep in as it is the only day of the week I can have one.

New semester starts

School holidays are now over for state schools!  The girls went back to school yesterday.  They had abit of a late arrival because of all dramas on Loganlea Road.  Honestly I will be glad when this project ends as I am tired of getting stop by the lollypop people nearly every trip to/from school.

Back to school week meant back to casual scraps and Wednesday's bowling meet resumed.  Yesterday I was at the craft store casually scrappin' away to my heart's content for five hours.  I was the only one in my little group showed up as the other ladies had other commitments on.  Was it the cold weather that caused people to stay rugged up at home yesterday??  The store was fairly quiet with shoppers and only one person or two came in for their weekly workshop to do for two hours in the morning.

Today I had my bowling social league.  I will post how I went in my sporting report blog. It was nice to catch up with the ladies as we haven't bowled in two weeks.  I found out they are going to the same John Farnham as us on the same night.  The only difference is we are one balcony up from them. 

A busy Saturday

How's the start of your weekend been going?  We had a busy one here today.  The day started with the girls going to their junior league.  They have a new team member who joined them for this season.

In the afternoon we went to the Logan Hyperdome to see a movie, do abit of shopping at Big W and had a late lunch.  The girls need new shoes for school, Frank needed some new clothes and I got myself a new Floorfillers CD.  It's a 5 CD set from hits from the 60's to this century.

At the movies we did see Kung Fu Panda 2.  If you are into marital arts, this animated movie is ideal!  It has no real connection with the first one but we think there might be a number 3 out in the near future.  But there was one part I found abit emotional.  I think because it might have a connection related to my past family history.

More movies

Well... it is coming to a close that our winter school holidays will end in four days.  I am now over the worse of my flu virus but I did caught a stomach bug for 24 hours this week.  Guess I am thankful my viruses happened on the school holidays.

This week I decided to make it more a movie week by going to the cinema to watch the movies we wanted to see.  Last weekend the girls went to see Transformers with their Dad.  On Tuesday we went and saw Cars 2 and today we went to see Mr Popper's Penguins.  We love it!  If you love penguins this movie is ideal for you.  It's a 95 minute PG movie that shows afew laughs and one sad moment. 

We only got to see Kung Fu Panda 2 and that will be it for these holidays.

Movies

Today would of been the most popular day to go to the cinema. For one it is now the second week of school holidays for our Queensland students and two its abit cheaper to buy tickets on Tuesdays.

After reading on the cinema's facebook wall this morning about their first session was sold out, I was expecting the shopping centre was going to be packed out. It did take me 10-15 mins to find a car parking spot. 

The girls and I hoped to watch Mr Popper's Penguins today but guess what....it was a full house for sessions up to and including 2:30pm. While we waited in line, it was abit a surprise when I saw the time schedule that three movies (Mr Poppler's Penguins, Transformers 3 and Kung Fu Panda 2)were still sold out at 1:30pm.  We decided to see Cars 2 at 2:10pm instead which we were lucky to get tickets because it looked nearly a full house too.  It was worth going to see it as I feel it is better then the first one. 

If you are thinking of seeing movies this week, it might be best to wait until school resumes next week or buy your tickets online to avoid disappointment at time of your arrival. But you wish to take the risk like we did, try for after 4pm sessions because once we walked out after 4pm today, the cinema sure had quieten down.

A restful weekend

To my followers!!  How was your weekend?  I hope your weekend was alot better then mine. I have been off the planet for a couple of days as I have came with this nasty little flu virus with the works.  Only now I am starting to reappear out of my shell.  All I did was alot of rest with afew forty winks of sleep here and there but I managed to read two short novels instead.  Both of them were about dogs been rescued with happy endings.

My kids still have another week of school holidays left and nothing has been planned officially.  It all just depends on this flu of mine..how it progresses!! 

My highlighted month

Goodbye June!  Where did this month go? This is the first month of winter which meant shorter daytime hours and rugging up to keep warm. I will be glad when winter ends as we had quite afew cold nights with temps in the single digits overnight.    

This was the final month to visit Dreamworld as our annual world passes expired at the end of the month.  We managed to visit the theme park once to visit the animals and went on a couple of rides.  My dream had finally came true….getting up close and personal with a tiger cub. 

I had a busy month with normal commitments and I decided to try out some new things.   Created my four blogs here, started to do digital scrapbooking and I discover a couple of new games on facebook.  

Nine weeks of term two at QLD schools sure came up very fast.  School holidays started from 27^th June until 11^th July.  In the first week of the holidays Rachel went to her sports program at a local high school. She played many different indoor and outdoor sports for six hours each day. While Monique enjoyed her time at home with me.  Actually she wasn’t home much either as I got her involved in a holiday program.  For three days she completed a movie making workshop in Logan.  She said she enjoyed it and hopes to do another workshop in the near future.
