I have noticed I haven't barely blog a lot this year. I will try my best to do more blogging in 2020. Here's hoping 2020 will be a better year for a lot of people. We had mother nature causing disasters for a lot of people to lose everything or lives were lost this past few months. Also lost a lot of celebrities throughout the year. I have seen on Facebook that some people will be glad to see 2019 gone. Could say this year was more a good year for me but I hope next year will be even better.

Sadly I have two friends who are terminally ill with their medical condition and I might be expecting the bad news I don't want sometime in 2020. One friend has stage 4 melanoma caner and she's been talking about leaving her family to travel to a different state. The other friend has a heart condition which can't be operated. I saw him before Christmas and he looked ready to leave Earth. Its not the memory I want!!

I have this week off from my volunteer work which I hope to get some abit of spring cleaning done and watch a cinema movie or two. Probably dine out on Saturday night at the local footy club. Next Monday afternoon I will have a job interview at a childcare centre. Wish me luck! I was surprised this morning when the Director phoned me and discovered the centre was opened. They used to have centres closed for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year. It was good for staff to have time off back then. But I heard a lot of business don't allow employees have time off before Christmas anymore.

This festive season sure went out the door very fast. How was your Christmas? On Christmas Eve I had my volunteer work. The warehouse closed at 1:30pm. Rest of the afternoon was spent on the final Christmas shopping. In the evening we went to the city to attend the 6pm Christmas Mass at St Stephen's Cathedral in Elizabeth Street. The church was quite a full house! A lot of people had to stand either both sides of the church wall or at the back entrance. We were sitting at the back row on the seats.

We had a quiet family dinner at Monique's house. We had present opening before dinner and played games with my 3 year grand daughter. Jade (who's almost three months) had her first Christmas which she won't remember. She was given baby clothing, bed linen and baby toys. Krystal mostly received gifts with either The Wiggles or Frozen image on the items. I received a Lion King Monopoly game, a small move around craft organiser, a star wars t-shirt, some money and scratch its which they are still inside the Christmas card not scratched. I could be rich but my chances of that happening is very slim! After dinner we went around locally to look at a couple of houses with good light displays.

On Boxing Day we had afternoon tea with my parents. In the evening we went to the cinema to see the latest Star wars movie "The Return of Skywalker". Don't want to be a movie spoiler but sadly "Princess Leia" had died in this movie. It's kind of expected to happen as Carrie Fisher had passed away on this day three years ago. Her mum "Debbie Reynolds" passed away on the next day. That was a very sad time of the year for that family.

What's your plans for New Years? I have volunteer work and probably nap afterwards. I am not sure what will do in the evening. I don't even know if there will be any fireworks happening as I heard some areas banned them because of the bushfires still happening in some areas of the country.

Better go as I have snail mail to post off this afternoon. All the best for a happy and safe New Year. Good luck with any new endeavours you may challenge yourself to do in 2020. Safe travels on the road too.
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">Hi everyone! How's your year being going? I had a pretty busy productive year. During semester one I managed to have some relief contract work as a teacher aide at one primary school. I mostly worked with additional needs students and junior grades. During term one I done a lot of walking to and from the public pool as all grades had their swimming lessons. In March I completed my first marshalling of the Cross Country which I actually enjoyed. I see can why PE teachers love their job!! Within two hours all grades had run/walked around the school grounds. In August I was involved in Senior Sports Day by being the starter for 800m track events for all age groups.

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">In term 4 I was introduced to volunteer work at Lifeline where I worked with two other machinists in creating recycled goody (ie cloth) bags to sell at all Lifeline stores in South East Queensland. I would spend up to 15 hrs per week on sewing bags. I used to sew my own clothing long before I had a family of my own and now I should consider get back into sewing again.

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">What a year I had! Besides catching with my some friends and relatives throughout the year, the biggest highlight of the year is my eldest daughter: Monique got married to the father of her child on 2nd March 2019. They had their wedding ceremony in a park's gazebo at bayside area while the reception was held at a community hall nearby with over 60 guests of mainly family members and closest friends.

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">Another big highlight of the year: Monique and Steve had their second child. A baby girl name Jade was welcomed into the world on 29th September 2019. At the present time she looks so much like her grandfather (ie Steve's father). She weighed in at 9lb 7oz. Most of the wedding guests knew about Monique's pregnancy as Steve had made the annoucement during the speeches at their wedding. Monique was only ten weeks pregnant at time of announcement.

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">Krystal is now three years old who looks more like her Grandma (ie Steve's mum). She attends Kindy three days a week, one morning at playgroup and has swimming lessons on Sundays. Also she was introduced to ten pin bowling. Some weeks she might socially play a game with somebody else she knows well. Watch this space to find out if she will become like her mother and be introduced to league play in the near future. Krystal had her family birthday celebrations at their home address in July. Her party was The Wiggles theme as she loves them! Emma is her favourite character.

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">We had made a couple of weekend trips to Hervey Bay to see Rachel this year. The last weekend visit was last month! We went shopping and visit the Story Bank (ie Mary Poppins Museum) in Maryborough. She plans on coming down to Brisbane in 2020 to celebrate her birthday with me.

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">Still ten pin bowling at the same centre but I was introduced to a new singles league as the old league of three seasons decided to transferred to a different centre. I have stayed in contact with afew people. I had my 50th party by social bowling with some past league players. Next year I will be playing at a different centre. Also might consider a touring league where you play at different centre once a month. <span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">Still been creative with my papercrafting by attending to regular workshops. I found new two consultants who live more local now and host regular meets per month on some weekends. And lucky me managed to attend two weekend retreats at Brookfield. Consider all the workshops I attended to I managed to create some wedding scrapbooking pages and work through other projects during the year.

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">In October I attended to a live concert performance at Kedron Wavell Services Club (ie RSL club) with my friend. We had dinner at a restaurant then went upstairs to seen ABBA Live who performed to ABBA songs for 2½ hrs. Were you an ABBA fan in the 70's? What was your favourite song?

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">On 5th December Monique and I had a day trip to Lismore to attend to McLeod's Daughters Reunion in the city hall. The afternoon event was for fans to be involved in a Q and A session to learn more about the actors and their life on the show. Monique was the lucky one to take advantage to ask a good question and two of the actors answered her. I had planned to ask a question but another fan beaten me.

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">Have you noticed how much spending we all intend to do leading up to Christmas and the public holiday goes out the door so fast? This Christmas will be a just quiet one with local family members. All the best for a happy and safe festive season with your families. If you have any travel plans, make sure your destination will be a safe journey. Good luck with any new endeavours in 2020!

Where is this year going? It's now halfway into spring here in Australia. But our temps have been more like summer in SE QLD as we had a couple of hot days with storms and rain finally here. On last Thursday evening we had a good crack of a thunderstorm here. Over 80 000 homes had lost power from anywhere between 1-3 hours.

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Monique's baby was welcomed into the world at 9:45pm on Sunday 29th September. She weighed in at 9lb 7oz and quite long (similar sized to a 3 month old baby). They named her Jade! She is quite an observant child and loves her tummy time! I wouldn't be surprise if Jade becomes an early walker by 9 months old as I was told last week she had her first roll over. In her first week of life she was trying to strengthen her neck muscles.

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Sadly my contract work at the school ended in August. Since then I have been looking for work and doing volunteer work at a big op shop warehouse. I was doing 15 hrs per week sorting out incoming of donations of clothing and manchester for a month but now I am sewing goody bags from recycled fabric. My job is to add company labels to these small bags. Last week I done almost 200 bags by myself. I love it! Just a shame I can't be paid to sew. Not sure if there is any machinist jobs out there. I should have a look online after this blogging is done. Then again maybe I should sew some items to sell. I used to sew my own clothes when I was in my teen years. I kept on doing it until I got married and had a family of my own.

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Last month I had time off (for two weeks) because I had a skin cancer removal off my upper back. It seem to be all out now and no further treatment was required. The surgery cut is long as a finger but the tumour was thick as a thumb. Rachel had a blood vessel mole removed off her face too. And a cousin of my Dad's had major back surgery last month. He was transferred to a rehab unit to get physio and training to walk again for about three weeks. My Dad and I went up to the hospital over two weeks ago to visit him. He progressed so well that they sent him home last week.

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial";">On Friday night I went out for dinner and concert with my friend at a club. The concert we saw was a group called ABBA Live who performs 70's songs from the original ABBA band. The function room was full of people of mostly over 40 who sang and/or danced for over two hours. Who remembers ABBA songs? What was your favourite song? There is afew songs used from Mamma Mia musical movie I like. If you can remember Muriel's Wedding they used a couple of ABBA songs too. <span style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Better go and prepare myself for another job interview now. I had a job interview yesterday afternoon which I don't think I was a successful applicant. The interviewer didn't really asked me a lot of questions like most people do. I was pretty much out the door within ten minutes. After the interview I called into another childcare centre up the road from the interview venue to see if they were hiring any new staff. The Assistant Director said not at present time but she was happy to accept my resume copy.

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial";">

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Until next blog: Have a good term! There is only seven weeks until summer vacation hits.

Almost six months have passed since last posting. I had a busy semester one as I was working casually at a school as a teacher's aide. At first it was just work for afew hours but since April my hours increased until mid August. I won't know until next week if my temporary contract will be extended until the end of this year. You see I was the replacement of another staff member as she retired from the workforce.
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Other then work I only attended to afew craft workshops on some weekends. But last weekend I was away for a craft camp with ten ladies staying at a large 2 storey house with seven bedrooms, three bathrooms and a large kitchen. We had to take our own breakfast, lunches and Friday night dinner. We had a 60s theme dress up and roast dinner on Saturday night. During the day we had fun with trivia games. Over the weekend I was busy journaling information for my daughter's pre wedding album. She will get two albums. The second album will be all about her special day.
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">In March my eldest daughter got married at bayside with around 70 guests. At their wedding reception they made a surprise announcement of being expectant parents again. Baby No 2 is due in late September. Their first child turned 3 years old this month. Two weeks ago they had a party in the Wiggles theme. The guests had to wear something in Wiggles colour. Majority of the guests won either blue or red shirts. Majority of my grand daughter's presents were either Wiggles toys or Frozen theme clothing or bed linen. I gave her a Frozen shirt and other clothing. She attends Kindy two days per week and loves it!!
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Got afew things to do this weekend which I better sign off here and make a start. Half the day is almost gone already.
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Have a good weekend! A great thing about weekends I can get to have a sleep in on most days. During the week I am up before the sun rises.craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-18162210053221113032019-02-01T11:55:00.001+10:002019-02-01T11:55:20.261+10:00Not a good start to 2019!!Goodbye January! Where did the last 31 days go? Australia is now into the last month of summer but I wouldn't be surprised if summer temperatures continue into parts of autumn. While SE QLD had mostly a dry summer, areas in North QLD had many mm of rainfall from tropical lows or low category cyclones which has caused a lot of flooding from Townsville and further north. It would be nice to see some good slow rainfall down this end of the state as our grass is pretty much gone brown everywhere. Meanwhile in mid west of USA they are experiencing a deep freeze (with temperatures well into the minus).

In January Australia had two public holidays. Besides the world celebrating New Years Day we had Australia Day on 26th January. It was just a very quiet day for us!! In the evening we dined out for dinner at the footy club. I had a roast lamb meal!! After dinner we went to the cinema to see Green Book. Have you seen it?

My year had started with the return to afew craft meets and bowling. I joined a new league as the old league was transferred to a different centre. For craft I was introduced to a new venue. Either on Monday or Tuesdays we can do free papercrafting of either card making or scrapbooking for 6 hours. I attend once a week on Mondays. The meet itself is free to attend but the store owner would prefer you to purchase at least one item.

This weekend I have two scrapbooking workshops with new consultants. Saturday's meet has her workshop for twelve hours to do your own projects but I don't think I will be there for that long. More likely between 8-10 hours the most. Sunday's meet involves a learning class to create a page or two. I used to do this kind of workshop years ago with a past CM consultant when I lived in Logan. Both new consultants (for different companies) live more locally which I hope to plan to continue visiting once a month if this weekend goes well. I am thinking of giving away attending Ipswich workshops because of the travel distance and its costing me more money then its really worth. My goal for this year is to create many scrapbooking pages I can because I haven't done a lot in the past 2 years due to study commitments.

My start of the year has not been the best with news. I had my mum in hospital for two nights for further tests to be done as in late 2018, a bowel test came back with some abnormal findings. She is okay at the moment. Just a bruised arm from all the needles she had. She had a colonoscopy, a cardiogram and other tests done. From her colonoscopy they removed afew polyps. She goes back for her annual heart check in mid February.

A couple of weeks an old friend phoned me with belated festive season greetings. I had known him and his wife since bowling in a league in the very early 21st century. They would be around the same age as my parents and they treated me like another daughter of theirs. I had left this league about 4 years ago. He told me over the phone he has been diagnosed with bone cancer, Mind you I was at a craft meet at the time he phoned my mobile number.

We have a very sick cousin. He would be the around same age as my father. My dad told me they attended to the same schools. Of course its expected when you grow up in a country town. My cousin had three mini strokes and a block artery is found in his neck. An ex-neighbour (who I still stay in touch with time to time) has a blocked value in his heart. His wife said the doctors won't operate because they feel he won't survive during surgery. The strangest part what I seen as a prediction from an Facebook app stating I will expect a death this year. I prefer not to happen but sadly its part of our lifecycle to deal with.

Better go as I have many scrapbooking pages to prepare for upcoming craft meets. Have a good February! craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-7203391040953273262019-01-05T09:29:00.000+10:002019-01-05T09:29:02.749+10:00Welcome 2019Happy New Year everyone! Hope you had a great festive season with your family. Consider all the spending and preparations we all do leading up to these public holidays, the celebration hours with the people we love intend to go out the door very fast.
My youngest daughter has been in Brisbane since Christmas Eve. Majority of her stay has been at her sister's house but I managed to have a week with her. She returns home on 13th January after we have my parent's 50th WA party.

On Christmas Eve we had dinner at a local pub then went to Christmas Mass at church. Our family Christmas dinner was at my eldest daughter's house. Boxing Day we were with my parents in the afternoon. We were first greeted by the neighbour's cat at the gate. He is a cute young cat who loves to hang around with my cat. Our cats didn't want to know my grand daughter but she was very keen to chase them. What did you get for Christmas? I got a couple of DVD movies, a ceramic cup of BB8 (a robot character from the latest Star Wars movies), a Brisbane edition Monopoly board game, a plant in a little tea cup set and other little miscellaneous items.

Its already the fifth day into 2019! We had a quiet NYE by having our annual supper picnic at a nice park until 12:30am. Local fireworks went off at midnight for about ten minutes. On NYD we went to the cinema to see Aquaman. On Wednesday I had a day at home doing some spring cleaning while Rachel went to a waterpark with her sister and partner and two friends of theirs. Yesterday we went to Old Petrie Town. Its a mini village street up in olden days with afew houses (as businesses now) and a couple of small museums. On Friday nights they have local flea markets and free entertainment until 9pm. We came home with afew reading books. For $15 I got two books on 50 shades sequel, one on craft and three of the old Golden Books series. I used to read them when I was a child. This time I will read them to Krystal.

This month will be busy watching tennis on TV and returning back to a couple of craft workshops and bowling. My old league has been transferred to a different centre to start play on 13th January at but I am staying at the same centre I have played at for the past three seasons. The Manager at the centre has introduced a new league starting on 20th January but the starting time will change to 6:30pm.

Better go and start preparing my craft workshops ready for this month's meets. I have three weekend meets this month. One of them is scrapbooking only for 9 hours and preparing pages ready for upcoming meets intends to take time to prep. The lady who runs this group has changed the venue too! Apparently the old venue hall hire charges went up quite high!!

Next week will be Christmas and I have been busy with break up parties, catching up with a small group of friends and Christmas preparations and shopping since my course ended last week. Tonight is my bowling break up party and prize presentation at a community hall near the bowling alley.
<span style="color: red; font-family: "trebuchet ms";">
<span style="color: red; font-family: "trebuchet ms";">Don't know if you had heard but we had a tropical cyclone Owen further up the QLD coast that hit land for the second time this summer. I think the cyclone started to form in the Coral Sea about a month ago. Because I was so busy with assignments I didn't catch all the reports about this cyclone. All I really caught that Owen didn't want to leave the country in a hurry. I assume the cyclone cross the coast as a low category TC and moved towards Northern Territory border. But I did hear: once it got to NT it done a U-turn and came back to QLD again as a Category 3 storm. The cell hit inland about 3am this morning. I haven't had the TV on today to know what report damage was done. But I am pretty sure it hit in a low populated area. Since the storm has downloaded to a tropical low and its forecast to travel down in a southeast direction and reach as far down as Sydney in afew days. Brisbane has been forecast to have a storm and heavy rain to arrive tomorrow but I am not so sure if this low will even reach as far down this way. Even when I looked at the radar online, the rainfall doesn't look really that heavy. Its looks to be more light to moderate in most areas down the coast. From radar, it seems to be more rain from a normal low and a tropical low is following. Been chatting to one of my long time friends via Facebook this morning for over two hours. She lives in Central QLD and she was telling they had a line of thunderstorms passing thru all morning.
Summer hit early and parts of the state had severe thunderstorms, dust storms and now bushfires in Central QLD. I am sure they would like to have rain falling now to stop these bad fires. I thought I heard on the news last night about a tropical cyclone on a lookout in the coral sea. If it forms and hit inlands of further coastal towns in QLD, I would say its abit early to have a tropical cyclone now! Normally we don't hear about them until January. Further north and west in our state had heatwaves this week with the temperatures in the 40s (degree Celsius). Now that is what you call a true heatwave!!! About two days ago we had a hot day with the temperatures in the high 30s down here but it was a gusty dry wind that made the afternoon quite uncomfortable.

I am still studying my course. Only have got two assignments to finish off by next Friday which means a lot of late nights coming up. Its hard to do any work while its so summery here and have no air conditioner.

December will be a busy month with break up parties in both craft and bowling. My parents will have their 50th Wedding Anniversary before Christmas but I will organised a surprise event at their home address in the New Year.

Also I have Christmas preparations to do after I complete these assignments. For once I am looking forward to this Christmas as I will be celebrating the festive season with both of my daughters this time. Rachel will arrive at Christmas Eve to stay at Monique's for a couple of weeks. I will be having our festive season dinner over at Monique's.

Better sign off as I have one assignment to finish off before I head off to do some errands this afternoon. Yesterday I spent over 6 hours on completing one final draft of the assignment. My hand was so sore by the time I finished. Might you these assignments I am working on are not little couple of pages. Most of them are about 20-30 pages long. The last assignment will be over 50 pages to complete.

Have a good weekend! I will have two craft meets on this weekend which I will have to plan for later on today as well. craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-6329563892278674332018-10-22T13:53:00.000+10:002018-10-22T13:53:08.585+10:00My springy reportWell... I don't know what happened to September as its almost the end of October next week. May as well report what's been happening for two months now as I somehow missed a month.

Face to Face workshops at college ended in September. Only have my prac hours and five assignments to complete by mid December. I am going to try to get all the assignments done by the end of next month.

In the afternoon of 8th September I taken Monique and Krystal to the Redfest. It's a strawberry festival held annually in Cleveland. This year they celebrated their 60th year!! It was Krystal's first time to attend to any festival event and she seemed to enjoyed herself. She had one pony ride and a lot of going down the big slide. We thought she would be scared of fireworks but she seemed to like them in the sky.

In the afternoon of 28th September I went Putt Putt on the Gold Coast with my bowling league. We all arrived by 1pm to have a BBQ lunch then spent the rest of the day playing 3 courses of putt putt. I didn't bothered doing the scores for myself or my friend but I did remembered I had one in hole twice. I invited Monique and a small group of their bowling mates to play too. We all loved it! We were the last to leave at around 8pm. Around 5pm we stopped playing for a short while as a typical brief storm passed over from the hinterland. Other people from my league left before or just after the storm left the Gold Coast.

Earlier this month I had a nurse care position for over a week to care for a medical condition patient who had day surgery to their eye. I had to be their taxi driver in their car as the patient wasn't allowed to drive for a week. I had to take the patient to their post op appts, pay their bills, do some housework and go shopping.

Rachel was done in Brisbane for over two weeks. She went home yesterday. Majority of her stay was at her sister's house. I managed to spent 4 nights with her this time. We went social bowling, seen two movies and played online games. We played Word Connect.

Last Saturday we had taken Krystal to see her first Disney movie at the cinema. We had seen The Little Mermaid. Personally I thought she was too young to sit through a whole movie but surprising she managed about half the movie. If I can recall I think my daughters were school age by the time I introduce them going to a cinema. Only because I know they couldn't sit still long enough when they were under 5 age group. Same reason for dine in restaurants.

Better go as I have a assignment to work on. It's due on this Friday. Have a good November!

Winter is coming a close soon. It might be cold in southern states still but Queensland will start warming up. We had one summer temperature day while the EKKA in Brisbane was on this month. Today is the first day in ages since we had seen any rain this winter. I don't know how many of readers around the world had heard or seen in the media reports about the severe drought our farmers are experiencing in Australia. Some farmers haven't seen rain for about five years now. Afew organisations had organised a fund raise event to help our farmers.
<span style="color: cyan; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">
<span style="color: cyan; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Almost time to say Goodbye to August later this week. Still have the cough virus. I had heard it could take up to three months to quit. When it first started in June I suspected the virus was going to hang around for most of the winter season. When we had comfortable warm temperatures my cough did stop for part of the day but as soon as night time begins the coughing attacks comes back I did get worse once I am in bed. I had a lot of late nights because of this cough and a lot of sleep ins when I could.
<span style="color: cyan; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">
<span style="color: cyan; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">There were two birthdays celebrated this month. My birthday and my eldest daughter. I just had a quiet day on my birthday but I sure made up this weekend. On Friday night I went out for dinner and movie with my friend. We had seen the second Mamma Mia. Yesterday we went to the Redcliffe Kite Festival. Thank goodness yesterday was a wonderful day to see many kites flying. We had a lot of different kind of kites of all sizes. Tonight after bowling we will go to the RSL for dinner as I have birthday vouchers to use.
<span style="color: cyan; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">
<span style="color: cyan; font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Better go as I have things to do this afternoon. Have a good spring/autumn season!

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">WOW!
I can't believe half of 2018 is now over. Where is this year going?
Christmas will be here before we know it. I haven't had much thought
about Christmas as I am more too focused on other priorities right
now. Have you?

<span style="color: blue; font-family: "trebuchet ms";">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Early
June my youngest daughter was in Brisbane for a week. She stayed at
her sister's house so I only managed to see her for three visits as I
was busy with college attendance at the time. She mainly was down
because the bridesmaids had their dress fitting done and ordered in.
It should be around October by the time their dresses are created and
delivered. Apparently the bridal dress has arrived and my daughter and I had organised to pick up later this month.

<span style="color: blue; font-family: "trebuchet ms";">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">In early June I had a full day in Toowoomba
with my best friend. We visited two museums. The first one was about
the history of trains and trams and the second museum “Cobb and Co”
was all about the history of past transportation modes before engine
runned vehicles were introduced in Australia. I really enjoyed it!
There was another museum we could of visited but it was temperary
closed for renovations.

<span style="color: blue; font-family: "trebuchet ms";">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Do
you like winter? This time of the year isn't my best friend because I
am not fuss with the cold temperatures and secondly I intend to cop
the common colds and flus which unfortunately it bite me harder then
I predicted. Had to have two weeks off college in June because I was quite
sick with a mild chest infection and asthma cough. It was more the
asthma cough that knocked me about because it mainly happened early
mornings and evenings, especially when I try to get to sleep. I only
get this kind of cough when I have the flu like symptoms. I had this
cough since I was a teenager but since I stop regular swimming the
asthma cough returned. After I visited a GP I had a change of
medication for my asthma. They now have a new kind of asthma puffer
which you only take once a day with the blue reliever. This new
puffer is more like a powder kind.

<span style="background-color: white; color: blue; font-family: "trebuchet ms";">

<span style="background-color: white; color: blue; font-family: "trebuchet ms";">This month I started my vocational placement at a childcare centre. Its about a 5 minute drive to the venue. Might consider leave the car at home and walk to VP as it is getting to become a nightmare of finding off street parking near the centre. Most times I have to walk about 1/2 km to get to work. I attend two days a week for about 16 hours. The first two weeks I was working with the pre-schoolers. On Thursday I taken a real ten pin and my toy bowling set to VP. The kids enjoyed playing with the set for a short while. One child managed to gain a strike. I wonder how many kids asked their parents at pick up if they could go bowling (at a real centre).

<span style="color: blue; font-family: "trebuchet ms";">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">My grand daughter turned two this week. She has been attending part
time daycare for a while now and she has really picked up a lot of
new things to learn. Of course she has this typical toddler behaviour
too! She is starting to identify who is in the photos now. A couple
of weeks ago I asked her if their pet dog is a dog? She just looked
at me and started to laugh!! It was the way she looked was
priceless!! Just wished a camera on record to show evidence but I am
not sure that moment will never will happen again.

<span style="background-color: white; color: blue; font-family: "trebuchet ms";">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms";">Well better get into studying before the day ends. I have four assessment booklets to finished off. I have one question left to answer for one booklet but it requires some online research to find the answer. Have<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms";"> a good August!

Today is the last day of autumn but guess what? Winter has started in some states of the country. Canberra had night temperatures in the early minus digits. Glad I don't live there! The cold weather isn't my best friend! Do you prefer winter or summer? We are forecast to have cold nights for afew days this week. Supposedly make a trip to Toowoomba this weekend and going by the weather bureau it will be cold at night. Better make sure I really pack winter clothing.

This month all I done is study and more study. I have completed three assessment pieces. Yesterday I finished off all the professional courses online. Wish I had known about this years ago! But it was probably not even existed when I needed it. This course was about Raising Good Kids with Dr Kaylene Henderson. She is a medical health specialist based in Australia. For any followers/readers who are Educators in children's services, Teachers in schools or new parents, I strongly recommend to check out her website. https://drkaylenehenderson.com/ The three courses are for Educators and parents who need to learn and understand more about child's behavioural strategies. I don't know how much the courses for outsiders but I was studying it because it was one of the subject requirements for my course study. I still have another online training course to do. There are eight modules to study! But this one will involved Early Years Connect.

My youngest daughter is currently in Brisbane for only this week. I managed to see her on Monday night at the bowling alley. Plans to catch up again tonight at a different centre. Because she is one of the bridesmaids in her sister's wedding the bridesmaids will have their dress fitting this weekend.

Better go and get some study done this afternoon. I lost my morning as I had issues trying to logged on to a particular website I had to end up visiting the service in person.
Depending on which hemisphere you are from, have a good winter/summer! craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-33633049072679615362018-05-05T13:37:00.001+10:002018-05-05T13:38:30.743+10:00April report<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Hello May! Its now the last month of Autumn but I wouldn't say SE QLD really shows signs of autumn as we had warm days and evenings still. Only in the past few days I have noticed the changes. Also I noticed our daylight hours changed. I am generally up at around 6am and the sun is starting to rise. In the evenings it is dark before 6pm.
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The Gold Coast had their Commonwealth Games in early April. I didn't go to any live events. It's cheaper to stay home to watch any event and don't have to worry about public transport. The opening ceremony was good but it was abit of a disappointed with the closing ceremony. They didn't show the competitors coming into the ceremony like they normally do. Did other countries showed the Commonwealth Games on TV?
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I have been house/animal sitting for my friend for the past two weeks. I will return home tomorrow. It was nice to have abit of holiday from home life. Secondly I didn't have far to travel for college either.
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I only attended two craft workshops in April. I was doing some scrapbooking. There is no workshops scheduled for this month but I hope to have a day crafting at a friend's house in two weeks time. I hope to get back into wedding invites as I haven't done any updates for a while. The wedding is held next year but the bride wants me to get them by November. You can't rush these things!
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I have been attending college for the past three weeks. Its have been quite full on as we work on a module per day. Also we are required to do two online course training. So far I have completed two class modules and one online module. Still got a lot to do! I have an assessment due on Tuesday. I am thankful this weekend is a long weekend. Monday is a public holiday "KNOWN AS LABOUR DAY". Only ten days we had a public holiday "Anzac Day" in Australia and New Zealand. I spend that day studying as much as I could.
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Speaking of studying I better get back to it as I have night plans later on. I didn't realised it has been over two months since I last posted on here. Guess that shows I have busy with the norm as well as dealing with one accident and one virus.

About three weekends ago I hurt my lower back by doing the most simple thing. I couldn't barely walk for a couple of days so I had my friend drove me to his local GP clinic. Turns out I just needed to do light walking, back exercises and take regular pain relief. I was making good progress until I came down with the second bout of the stomach bug on the weekend. Now I am on probiotic tablets as my immune system seems to have dropped.

Last month I applied an application to study Early Childhood. The course starts next week so I probably be extra busy for the next six months as the course is only at certificate level. I assume I have been accepted as I haven't heard anything different as yet. My field placement will be with under 5 children so I will have to make sure my multi vitamin intake will be always up to date. My grand daughter has been sick a lot this year so that is probably where I caught the latest virus from.

How was your Easter? I was house/animal sitting over the long weekend as my friend was away. It was nice to have some "ME" time for once by doing some craft work. Also I managed to spend some time with my eldest daughter and family.

Sorry this report will only be short and sweet as I don't have a lot of energy to stay up for long periods of time. Have a good April! craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-82356448323140449212018-01-25T16:52:00.001+10:002018-01-25T16:52:48.789+10:00Happy New Year!Welcome 2018! Its hard to believe the first month of the new year will come to an end next week. I wouldn't say it is the best welcome month for any of us as we had a good round of summer colds and stomach bugs. I am the lucky one who copped it this week. I was quite sick for two days. Only today I got out and about to get some important things done.

Also had four people in hospital last week. On Tuesday one craft friend had day surgery on her nose to remove a sun cancer. On the same night my grand daughter was admitted to hospital with coughing and wheezing. Turns out it was asthma!! She was in hospital for half the night of having hourly doses of the asthma puffer. She was discharged after midnight once the wheezing stopped and her heart rate dropped back to normal. On Wednesday I had two relatives in hospital. A cousin of mine had more serious operation for his cancer removal in the colon and appendix. Last I heard he is making good progress with major body changes On the same day I thought it was my Dad's turn to have day surgery for his melanoma but it turned out to be only a consultation visit. He goes into hospital next Tuesday for his day surgery. Over the summer season I lost count on how many doctor visits he had for sunspots. Except for that one melanoma on his left arm, most of the biopsies came back as BCCs. One of the nurses told my father: he is breeding a cancer farm!!

On a good note: my bowling league and craft workshops have resumed last weekend. It was a busy weekend as I had two craft meets during the day on Saturday and Sunday and bowling on Sunday night. First night back I bowled well! In a different league at a different centre I witness a 300 game played on Monday night. I was only at the centre for social time with my daughter (about wedding stuff) while her future partner bowls in their league with a mate of theirs.

Besides watching a lot of tennis on TV, I did managed to see three movies at the cinema. I watched The Greatest Showman, Paddington Bear 2 and Jumanji (ie THE ROCK starred in this one). Oh yeah, that reminds I met an American lady while dining out with old college buddy of mine for lunch at one of the famous AFL club in Logan. It was a 5 hr lunch as the US friend (who currently on holidays in Australia) told us a lot of USA. I was the curious one who wanted to know more about US! Its my dream holiday to go to USA and see many places. I do have a relative and a long time email friend who lives in Florida. As we were departing the footy venue my buddy and I found out this young USA woman is related to THE ROCK. I do have a cousin who is famous in the footy world over in USA so it doesn't really surprise me to meet someone who is related to someone else who is famous. I believe celebrities are entitled to a private life too!

Six weeks of school holidays has been and gone! The students in Queensland went back to school this week. They only had a 3-4 days of schooling as tomorrow is Australia Day! Its a public holiday for all states of the country to celebrate the country's milestones. I don't think I will be doing anything special but I have been invited to attend to a BBQ on Saturday night with some bowling friends.

Guess that is the drama I have to share with you this month! All the best of a Happy February! Safe travels to any destination! Sadly two families had lost their lives over the Christmas weekend. Both accidents (one in Brisbane and the other in NSW) was caused from an intoxicated drivers (ie drug related). Just remember if you plan on drinking alcohol at any venue, make sure you have a plan B beforehand. craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-42878972000846257742017-12-31T12:51:00.002+10:002017-12-31T12:51:43.619+10:00My 2017 ReportToday is the last day of 2017. The weather prediction might be right about a wet and stormy night for New Year Eve celebrations tonight. Its very overcast and humid now!! Not sure if I will go out or even be awake to see 2018 welcoming as I have came down with a summer cold this morning.

Didn't this year really fly by? Could say I had a busy year of doing part time job in retail and babysitting. During the second semester I was studying a course which ended when school finished for the year. I was studying Education Support and had one term of work experience at a public primary school. I mostly worked in the junior grades by assisting the classroom teacher with admin work, supervising and assisting some students with their education needs and playground duty.

My craft meets didn't happened as much in semester two as my course taken up most of my time. I mainly attending to meets on some weekends per month. I mostly done my own thing with an odd workshop activity/lesson. Next year I plan on just focus on one thing as I am well behind with the projects. I am hoping to use this summer break to prepare many pages to scrapbook in 2018.

I was still bowling on Sunday nights. My league went for 46 weeks and managed not to come last in our league standings. I didn't bowl many high games at all. Maybe it should be something I should focus more on in 2018. Next year it looks to be new members will be joining the league. There were discussions about changing centres but I am glad the plan fell through as I wasn't going to travel an extra 30 minutes to get there. During the year we had a couple of social events with the league. We had a couple of dining outs and one day of putt putt on the Gold Coast. The league committee is seeking new fundraising ideas for 2018. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Better go and get some food shopping done before the storm comes later on. Happy New Year! I hope 2018 will be happy, healthy and safe year for you and your families. If you planning to make New Year Resolutions I hope you will be able to sick to them.craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-27386984737215859782017-12-24T09:56:00.001+10:002017-12-24T09:56:49.041+10:00Merry Christmas!Only one sleep to go! I hope everyone is well prepared by now as officially tomorrow will be the biggest day for most people.

Before the shops close this afternoon I need to purchase and prepare the fresh food ready for tomorrow. Hopefully the shops will be abit quieter. Most supermarkets had been open to midnight during this week. I called into one after 10pm on Friday night and I was amazed how silent night it really was.

Later this afternoon I have plans to watch a Christmas movie at the cinema with a friend. And on Boxing Day we already got tickets to see the latest Doctor Who movie length episode in the afternoon.

Either tonight but more likely tomorrow I will be out and about during the day to hand deliver my Christmas cards into some mailbox as I didn't get around to writing up Christmas cards until yesterday. Others will be posted as they live too far away.

Tomorrow I will be at my daughters from late afternoon to have our family dinner there. She has plans to be with her partner's family during the day.

Best wishes for a happy and safe festive season with your families. I hope 2018 will be a happy and healthy year for all.craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-71129862201920076072017-11-30T21:33:00.001+10:002017-11-30T21:33:36.396+10:00Goodbye Spring!OMG!! Where is this year really going? Only 25 more sleeps until Christmas Day! I haven't even thought much about this year's Christmas shopping, card writing and etc. as I have been busy dealing with my college degree. Next week is the last week of college and proud to say we only have our final module to complete tomorrow. Our graduation won't happened until January 2018. It will be abit hard to apply for any current teacher aide's positions before school ends next week as none of us can show our certificate until late January. In today's mail my first aide certificate finally arrived after the hiccups since September.

Today is the last day of spring but like I said in a previous blog we started summer temperatures already. Throughout this month we seen more rainfall and an odd storm here and there. The BOM are predicting a possible wet festive season. Really it depends on how hard the rain falls in short time over the festive season. My Christmas dinner supposedly be happening at my daughter's house. If there is too much rain with flash flooding in low areas it will be very hard to travel to her place. On the weather report on TV tonight there was a Tropical Cyclone formed out the sea off Western Australia. I wasn't expecting to hear about cyclones as yet. Normally we don't hear about them until January.

Year 10 to 12 have now finished their school year. All private schools will be finished by tomorrow. Only the state schools from prep to year 9 will finished next Friday. My field placement will be completed next week too. In my last week I will be working with other teacher aides and see what really goes behind the scenes. Today in their staffroom I observed two teacher's aides preparing many scrapbooks for next year's classes.

This week was my last week to work in the junior classrooms. I will miss them as I have gain some form of professional relationship with some students. I have grown to know more about their personality traits, etc. It has been a great experience to see and learn how much the curriculum has changed since I was at school. Even my 19 year old said last week the curriculum has changed a lot since she was in year one. The only thing I will to learn more is about their handwriting styles because it sure has changed a lot since my school days. Guess I will have to buy a handwriting book and start practicing over the holidays.

About a month ago my 19 yo has announced her engagement to her child's father. They plan to get married in autumn 2019. They plan on having three bridesmaids (all relatives), one flower girl (which I am sure you can work out who that person is) and three groomsmen (two are friends and one relative). At the moment only their wedding attire are on layby. They decided to order now while major sales are on. My job is to make invitations next year!

Just recently my grand daughter has developed a new milestone. She started to scribble on paper. Also she scribbles on walls and tables. At this stage we can't predict which way she will go with her fine motor skills. At the moment she seems to be using both left and right hands to hold a pencil and scribble. But I feel she might end up be left handed because she seems to feel more comfortable in scribbling and holding the pencil right. If I had to, I can cut and write left handed but not as fast and confident as my right hand.

Better go as I have some Christmas Cards to write to my college mates and hand out tomorrow. A couple of students won't be able to attend to the break up party next week. Have a good night! craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-22718153212576806922017-10-07T11:17:00.002+10:002017-10-07T11:17:43.462+10:00Half way into Spring<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">How's everything and everyone going? Hope all is well and enjoying your autumn/spring season. We are supposedly be in spring but we had more summer temperatures here already. Storm season already started after a dry autumn and winter seasons. Still not a lot of rain in SE QLD to fill up our dams. I heard Bundaberg copped a good dose of the rainfall last week!
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Here I thought it was time to put our winter supplies away but it's overcast, windy (on the north side) and cooler here today! Supposedly be cooler temps and overcast with showers this weekend! Thank goodness I done all the washing of my clothes yesterday before I went to college. And managed to get home in time before the storm arrived.
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">What did yesterday's storm do? On my way home yesterday I could see a good storm brewing on the Southside. My eldest daughter text me once I got home from college to say the storm looked to be really a nasty one near her way. She moved to Acacia Ridge (not far from our old address years ago. She was too young to remember living there) after her daughter's first birthday party in July. I won't got into details to why the sudden move from Regents Park to where they are now.
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I didn't catch the news report to find out who copped the nasty looking storm but we only had the tail end of the cell at my place. Just one heavy shower for 5-10 minutes and abit windy. Not strong enough to worry about moving my car off the street.
<div dir="ltr" id="x_divtagdefaultwrapper" style="color: black; font-family: Calibri,Helvetica,sans-serif,serif,"EmojiFont"; font-size: 12pt;">
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Nothing special to report about September...Just basically done the normal routine each week with work at the boutique store but my volunteer hours have now dropped, two craft meets, bowling and study my course which takes up my days of the week now. The last two weeks of September were school holidays.
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">This week was back to school for Term 4...the last term for the school year in Australia. Back to college this week after a two week break but I only had one week as the first week I had a module to finish off and do my first aid training.
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I started my work experience this week. I had two days of attending to a year one class. After discussions with other students yesterday it seems I am the only one with the most hours of working and shorter breaks. I work 6 hours per day! I only have half an hour break per day which suits me fine as I used to it from other occupations. Most of the time I feel that is all I really need! Even at college we only get half an hour at lunchtime. Sadly I don't eat much during the break because I am a slow eater!

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Our curriculum sure has changed since my school days. In the classroom this week the students were learning about English procedure (ie how to write one). Do you know what that is? I was more surprise to see the juniors are learning this. I thought this assessment would suit high school students more. When I mentioned to afew people at work (at the shop) they were surprised too. One person said these students will be doing university work by the time they hit senior primary (ie year 6).
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Better go as I have an assessment to do and finish off my module this weekend. My assessment work is to create a bookmark (with an educational note on it) This week we were learning about supporting students with literacy skills. Next week will be about numeracy.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Have a good weekend!
Well I wouldn't actually say its true spring as some areas of Queensland had summer temperatures during the day. While Hobart (capital city of Tasmania) has snow!! Go figure! Would be nice if we had more rain as it's very dry here over winter. Our grass is brown! And I heard we might be a drought season again!!

Yes....you could say I have neglected my blog as it has been 2-3 months since I last posted. Only because I have been busy!! Besides normal commitments I am enrolled to study a course in Brisbane. I'm now studying Certificate 3 in Education Support since August. It means I would like to become a teacher aide in schools. It's only a 20 week course which means I must complete a module per week. I have face to face training once a week and complete the module at home within a week. Field Placement will commenced after the school holidays and have regular visits for experience and assessment for one term. Hopefully it will be enough to be employed next year!

The highlight of July would be my grand daughter! She turned one! Her parents hosted a party at their old home address (they have moved again since) with a lot of family members and close friends. They had relatives as far as Grafton who attended the occasion.

My grand daughter started to walk before her first birthday. She loves adventure!! She never sits down long enough!! She started attending day care recently. She goes two days per week and seems to enjoy attending and making new friends.

Better go and get organised for tomorrow's college. I have learnt forth module and tomorrow's module will be about Diverse People. We have been asked to bring in a plate from our cultural backgrounds. I'm sticking to something sweet and Aussie. We had five generations born in Australia now.

Firstly I cancelled my course because I wasn't getting anywhere with the field placement venue. The college supposedly refund me (by crediting method) which I am still waiting on. My trainee suggested to re enrol but find a venue first. That's what I have worked on for months and months! Thought about working with under 5 this time as little kids seem to like me more then school age. I hope my grand daughter doesn't act the same once she starts school in five years time. She turns 1 next month! She started to walk afew steps by herself now.

I am hoping to stay there for at least six months to gain work experience for my resume. I was told today to add the details on my resume and use my boss for a reference.

Mother's Day will be held on 14th May. It will be Monique's first Mother's Day experience with Krystal (aged 9 months). I have organised a breakfast buffet at the footy club that morning from 8am to 10am. Its the basic hot continental breakfast which I am sure everyone will enjoy for $15 each. So what are you going to do for your mum on Mother's Day?
The kids had their two week break over Easter and now back for term 2. We had two public holidays: Anzac Day (25 April) and Labour Day (1 May). The next public holiday won't be until August when Brisbane has the EKKA (ie carnival) on for ten days. I haven't been to the EKKA for afew years now. The only thing I like about the EKKA are the Exhibit displays, showbags and the showground arena of activities. The sideshow alley (ie rides) are the thing of the past for me. The entrance fees doesn't include rides.

Easter has been and gone for another year! How was your Easter? On Good Friday we had a fish and chips picnic near the local beach. It was quiet a popular spot there over Easter. On Saturday we went to shopping, attend to the Easter Mass at church and had dinner at the footy club. On Easter Sunday we spent the day with Monique and her family. It was Krystal's first Easter and didn't she loved chocolate!!! On Monday I spent the afternoon with my parents.

Since then I basically been busy with loads of appointments and job interviews. Do you think I was the lucky candidate? NO WAY!! No one is giving me a chance to enter their front entrance. Its very hard to find employment for someone like me with very limited experience. Most jobs now prefer a qualification of some sort. Supposedly completed my Diploma by now but I can't finish it because of the field placement drama. No one wants to spend extra time to supervise a student. Children's Services is a very competitive industry in Australia! I have been looking for three years to work in any OSHC centres (ie state or private sector). I am sure I have applied to nearly every centre in Brisbane by now without any success.
I think its now time for a new change. Last week I looked into volunteer work with animals this time. I sent two applications to 2 centres to do volunteer work day one a week for three months. With one company I will have to do an induction day before I can start in June. The other centre I have to call in person to see how it works, etc which I will have to call in very soon.

Better go and get organised to go up to the hospital to visit my friend again. I had to send him to the public hospital emergency at 2:30am on Tuesday morning as he had a high fever, very close to 40. He has round 2 of this mystery virus again. All he gets is high fevers and cold sweats for days. He went to the doctor last week and got blood and urine tests done. Nothing came up out of the
ordinary! The doctors are so puzzled with this one. The hospital doctor quoted: "His body is not letting any secrets out to why he is ill". He seems to have his mother's gene. When she gets ill, the doctors can never find the problem to why it is happening.

When I was up there yesterday he was starting to get better after a course of antibodies via drip. If he continues to have temps back to normal he should go home before weekend.

Until next blog post: have a good spring/autumn season!craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-12148093185860341472017-04-06T18:40:00.002+10:002017-04-06T18:41:14.700+10:00Goodbye Term OneWOW! Where is this year going? Term one just ended last week but most schools closed early due to tropical cyclone Debbie hit the upper north coast of mainland and Whitsunday Islands last week. After Debbie downgraded to a tropical low, the cell moved down the Queensland coast into northern NSW. Brisbane was hit with heavy rain and gusty winds on Thursday night. Logan was the hardest hit with floodwaters which I think most of the water came from Gold Coast Hinterland. Lower areas in Brisbane copped the floodwaters for only a short time. Debbie is still around but the low has now hit in New Zealand. I saw on the news today they are getting floods now.

Its currently the first week of school holidays and of course it isn't a good start for people who were affected by TC Debbie. Most places had no power or water for a week! I seen on Facebook that some person complained about no bread or milk! For crying out loud, stop thinking about yourself! There are people out there don't have a home to go back too!!

As I had said earlier term one has ended. Ten weeks of my life was just the same old routine with normal commitments. Sadly my friend's father had passed away last month. The funeral was held eight days later on a rainy day. My friend's father was well known by many people who worked with him or hobbies commitments. Also he was involved in RSL club so a special service was completed at church. The funeral was 90 minutes long!! The church had a roof wet leak so I was getting wet for most of the service. Luckily it was summer still!!!

Better go as I have a meowing cat to deal with and dinner to make. Have a good month!craftynuthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00417763856608108318noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5075184806868946174.post-70126728866706619552017-03-01T09:44:00.000+10:002017-03-01T09:44:19.425+10:00Goodbye SummerHard to believe yesterday supposedly be the last of summer but I don't think it will end for QLD just yet. Besides animal sitting for a couple of days as the owner was absent, I am supporting my friend who is dealing with his terminally ill father who quality of life is going downhill fast as he is riddled with two brain tumours and now cancer in parts of his organs. This patient (aged 80) has been in palliative care for the past week. Very weak, frail and bed ridden!! The family are trying to spend a lot of time with him but the patient feels frustrated most of the time dealing with his family fussing over him. I only been up once to see him briefly on the weekend. Majority of the time the patient wants to sleep which is more likely the best thing for the patient right now.

The meet in March has been cancelled as most people will be away on a craft retreat that weekend. I have been invited to a retreat in July for a lot less in cost then to other venues. This one costs only $300 for 5 days. We can do any craft projects we wish to please to do!! I will see how things go for the next couple of months before I make my final decision.
